an Installation of lots of bright and colorful flowers

I recently spent a few days at the Chelsea Moxy Hotel and here is my review! It’s a 4-star hotel in the flower district. Nearby popular attractions include Madison Square Garden and the legendary Vessel. I was in the area for a quick domestic getaway and loved my experience.

Arriving at Moxy NYC

I booked my room through booking.com, and the process was seamless. Moxy was easy to find. I loved the flowers outside of the lobby. Since Moxy is surrounded by many flower shops, you’ll see thousands of ornamental trees and colorful plants.

The staff at the front desk was helpful and kind. They explained where the gym, rooftop, and breakfast were. The lobby was modern and small, but things moved quickly. The check-in process got a 9/10 from me. it would have been a 10 if they offered drinks at check-in. There was an ice box there offering drinks, but it was empty.

The Rooms at Moxy NYC Chelsea

I booked the King Room with City View because I wanted pretty views of the NYC skyline, and that’s what I got! The views were amazing! Catching the golden rays of sunrise each morning motivated me to have a positive day.

The room is a bit small, but Moxy Chelsea does a good job of utilizing every space. There is a foldable desk, lots of wall space, and drawers below the bed. The room was super clean, but there weren’t any personal toiletries. The shower had soap and shampoo, but I think they could provide a bit more for the price point.

I was also disappointed that there wasn’t a coffee maker or mini bar, but room service is available during certain hours of the day.

The bed and blanket was super comfortable. I had no issues sleeping, although I’m not a light sleeper.

Hotel Facilities

Moxy Chelsea has many facilities that will make your vacation better. There’s a rooftop lounge next door. Their fitness center has many different machines and weights. It also has towels and water. If you have a lot of work, they have a gorgeous workstation with quiet rooms and couches. I loved the decor inside.

Restaurants + Free Breakfast at Moxy Chelsea NYC

Free Breakfast

Some rooms come with free breakfast. The breakfasts is located on the first floor at an attached bakery. I was surprised at the pastries they offered. I loved their honey cornbread loaf. It was delicious! They also had a few sandwiches and fruit. The coffee options were pretty good as well. The free breakfast doesn’t include hot food. The cafe is truly gorgeous. It’s an open air concept with lots of tables and bar seating.

Lunch and Dinner

The Lobby Bar is a gorgeous eating area with dark lighs and moody decor. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 4pm to 12 am. There’s also the Fleur Room, a gorgeous rooftop lounge with views of the NYC skyline. They have mocktails and hotel guests have priority. It can get crowded on the weekends. They also have vegan options.

Is it Worth Staying at Moxy NYC Chelsea?

Overall, I would recommend staying at Moxy NYC Chelsea. It’s perfect if you enjoy rooftop parties or nightlife. I wasn’t interested in going out on this trip, so I find it perfect for those who prefer a more laid-back trip.

The subway is only a few blocks away, so you can visit anywhere in NYC. Plus, It’s close to Penn Station and other bus stops if you arrive by bus or Amtrak.

After taxes, rooms are about $300+ a night, comparable to nearby hotels. There are lots of nearby attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The area is pretty safe, and there’s not a lot of noise ( I mean, it’s still NYC, lol).

NYC has extra taxes on hotel rooms, so be prepared for that, although most sites allow you to pay in advance.
