Looking for the best hotels in Makkah for Umrah or Hajj? I’ve got you covered. During my last Umrah, I had a view of the Kaba, which made my pilgrimage so much more magical. Staying close to the haram will save you lots of time and comfort. Makkah can become very crowded and hot, so you will not regret staying one elevator ride down from the haram.
Swissotel Makkah: Hotels in Makkah Close to the Haram
Swissotel Makkah goes out of its way to provide a memorable umrah. They offer some of the best views of the Kaba for a moderate price. It takes less than 5 minutes to reach Masjid Al Haraam from Swissotel Makkah.
I loved enjoying dinner while watching how beautiful the haram became at night.
Their menu was extensive, so you don’t need to go far for food. I loved their breakfast buffet, which offered local Arab dishes, vegetarian options, and delectable desserts. Eat up because you’ll need your energy to perform the Umrah rituals.
Rooms start at $130 during the low season but get more expensive during Ramadan. I recommend booking in advance to ensure you get the best room, as Kaba-facing rooms book out fast.
Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel: The Best Hotel in Makkah
The Hotel Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, is located in the heart of Makkah, just steps away from the Masjid al-Haram. This makes it incredibly convenient for pilgrims to perform Umrah or Hajj. It’s located in the Iconic Clock Tower, the world’s largest clock face and an iconic symbol of Makkah.
Hotel Makkah Clock Royal Towers has gorgeous, luxurious rooms with stunning views of the Haram. The rooms are elegant and provide hotel-wide streaming of the azan. Imagine waking up for fajr by the azan of Masjid al-Haram and then walking for less than 10 minutes to pray at the most sacred mosque in the world.
Guests can enjoy popular international restaurants, a gym (although you won’t need it after running between Safa and Marwa), a relaxing spa, and a great shopping center nearby. I preferred the shopping in Makkah to Madinah.
Book early if you’re coming during Ramadan or school holidays, as hotels near the Haram sell out quickly.

Pullman ZamZam Makkah: 5 Star Hotel in Makkah
Staying at Pullman ZamZam Makkah is consistently amazing. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are cozy and soft. Some rooms have a view of the Kaaba from the window, and it’s genuinely surreal to witness.
I loved how much detail they put into the Breakfast, and the staff is sweet and accommodating. Overall, the experience is worth the price, and I recommend staying here.
