Beach House Resort on Gili T Review
The Beach House Resort at Gili Trawangan was a nightmare from hell. I can honestly say that staying there ruined my vacation in Gili T, and I would never recommend it to another person. I have never experienced a hotel on this level.
Don’t be fooled. They put a lot of energy in making exterior spaces look good but the rooms and service is horrendous.
The Rooms at Beach House Resort Gili Trawangan
The Beach House Resort is considered a mid-range hotel in Gili Trawangan, so I was very surprised when I walked into my room. The doorknob was knocked completely off its handle. The furniture had visible stains, and the room smelled of mold. After 4+ hours of traveling by bus and boat, the Beach House Resort is the last place I would ever recommend to someone.

I’m not a clean freak, but I always pull back the sheets on my hotel beds to check for bed bugs and things that shouldn’t be there.
Nothing could prepare me for what I saw on the beds at Beach House Resort. I pulled back the sheets, and there were black sneaker prints on them—the entire print of a shoe was on the bed. In addition to the sneaker prints, I saw chunks of hair and debris. My bed was obviously not cleaned upon my arrival, which was shocking because I waited at least 30-45 minutes to check in.
There were stains on every surface in the room. Mysterious substances galore. Honestly it was disgusting and the lack of care from the staff was bewildering.
Customer Service at Beach House Resort Gili Trawangan
So, after taking a few pictures, I walked back down to the office and calmly explained the situation to the woman at the front desk. The receptionist didn’t apologize; she seemed annoyed that I was standing in front of her. She stared blankly and said they would find me a new room.
So now, I was back to waiting. After such a long journey to Gili Trawangan, I must admit that I was annoyed and ready to rest.
Staff members came to show me the new room. Honestly, the staff looked to be maybe 16 years old, and they acted like children. And that was a taste of what was to become.
I waited almost 30 minutes for someone to come and take my order at breakfast. The food was okay. Dinner was a bit expensive and not worth it.
The pool was a bit crowded, which is fine; just something to note.
Overall I would never recommend staying at Beach House Gili Trawangan. I left a review, but it miraculously disappeared. It doesn’t look as good as its photos, and the staff is very unprofessional. Food is overpriced and not that great. The only selling point of this hotel is its location and honestly, you can find better.
Best Hotels in Gil Trawangan
Take the hotel reviews on Gili Trawangan with a pinch of salt. Do you research before booking a hotel here. I don’t know the best hotels in Gili Trawangan but hopefully I’ve saved you from staying here. Another tip for choosing a good hotel is to research its location, as it may be time-consuming to get there if you aren’t using a horse carriage and hotels near the mosque may cause some issues for non-Muslim light sleepers.Best of luck!
