Relax with a Traditional Balinese Flower Bath

One of the most luxurious ways to unwind in Kuta is with a traditional Balinese flower bath. Many local spas, like Astagina Resort Villa and Spa or L’Occitane Spa, offer this relaxing experience. One thing they don’t tell you, is that you may find a bug or two but it will all be worth it. Flower baths are perfect for recharging after a day of exploration. Your feet will thank you later.

Exciting Things to Do in Kuta: Sunset at Kuta Beach

Kuta Beach is famous for its incredible sunsets, making it the perfect spot to wind down after a day of adventure. Grab a seat on the sand, and watch the sky turn shades of orange and pink as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. Local vendors offer snacks and drinks, so you can enjoy a fresh coconut as you take in the view. Traffic can get busy right before sunset so I recommend staying at a hotel near the beach like Astagina Resort Villa and Spa.

Kuta Beach is one of the best places to try surfing for beginners, with its consistent waves and sandy bottom. Many surf schools along the beach offer lessons and equipment rentals, so you can learn to catch your first wave in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Surfing is a great way to enjoy the ocean and get a taste of Bali’s famous surf culture.

Leaving Kuta for a day trip to Nusa Penida offers a quick and thrilling escape into Bali’s wilder side. Early in the morning, hop on a speedboat from Sanur Harbor, just a short drive from Kuta, for the 45-minute ride across to Nusa Penida’s stunning cliffs, beaches, and lagoons. Once there, you’ll find a different world waiting—hidden beaches like Diamond Beach, dramatic viewpoints at Kelingking Beach, and serene spots like Angel’s Billabong. With plenty of scooter rentals or private car options, exploring the island is easy, allowing you to make the most of Nusa Penida’s natural beauty before returning to Kuta in the evening.

Is Visiting Kuta Worth It?

I think visiting Kuta is worth it if you have an unlimited amount of time in Bali. I don’t regret spending a few days here but are there better places to stay in Bali? Absolutely. Seminyak feels safer but Kuta still has a bit to offer. If your time in Bali is limited, then I would recommend reading my post on if Kuta is worth visiting. Whether you’re sliding down a water slide, taking a surf class, or watching the sunset on Kuta Beach, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this beach town.

There are tons of great hotels to choose from. Astagina Resort Villa and Spa was one of my favorites. They have a beautiful pool, a great breakfast, and stunning rooms. They also offer floating breakfasts and the iconic Bali flower baths.
