Explore the Seminyak Flea Market

If you love shopping for unique finds and souvenirs, the Seminyak Flea Market is a must-visit. This bustling market is filled with local vendors selling a range of products, from handcrafted jewelry and Balinese sarongs to beauitufl purses. I bought one that knocks some Italian brands off their feet for a fraction of the price. It’s a great spot to pick up something special while supporting local artisans, and bargaining is welcomed here, so you can score some great deals. Never commit to the first price unless you’re buying food or produce from older women.

Challenge Friends at Shooters Bali

Shooters Bali is where you need to be if you love partying. Shooters has a retro vibe, with tons of activities. You can play mini-golf, billiards, a shooting range, and a variety of other games. Shooters is perfect for groups and families looking to add a bit of fun competition to their day in Seminyak. With themed nights, a lively bar with non-alcholic options, and snacks, it’s a place where you can easily spend a few hours unwinding and laughing with friends.

Visiting a beach club is a common activity for long term Seminyak expats. There are lots of luxurious beach clubs that with breathtaking views of the ocean and good music. Some popular spots are Potato Head Beach Club and Cocoon, both offering a relaxed vibe where you can lounge by the pool, sip tropical mocktails, and enjoy a live DJ. Mari Beach Club is a smaller club with a more authentic Balinese vibe.

Many of these beach clubs are family-friendly during the day and turn into more of a party spot during the night. Most of the beach clubs have an entrance fee or a minimum spend, so just keep that in mind and check out the menu before you go.

Tanah Lot Temple is only a 30-45 minute drive from Seminyak. It’s one of Bali’s most iconic landmarks located on the sea. The most magical time to visit is during high tide but sunset is a close second. A visit to Tanah Lot offers a deeper glimpse into Balinese spirituality and culture, as well as an unforgettable photo opportunity.

Shop for Local Goods at Badung Market

Badung Market, the largest traditional market in Bali, is an ideal destination for experiencing authentic Balinese life. Located in nearby Denpasar, this bustling market offers everything from fresh produce like this mangosteen that I had for the first time in my life. It was very sweet and reminded me of pineapple and and lychee. It’s also a great place to buy local spices and traditional Balinese clothing.

Seminyak Beach stretches along the coast and offers a perfect blend of relaxation and activity, with areas for sunbathing, beach games, and water sports like surfing. Rent a sun lounger, enjoy a beach massage, or take a stroll along the sand as you soak in the tropical sun. I love visiting museums in a new country. To learn more about Bali, head to the Bali Museum. This museum is filled with ancient ceramics, weapons, fabrics, and religious items that tell the story of Bali’s rich cultural past. Visiting the museum will make it easier to understand temples and spirituality in Bali on a deeper level.

Indulge in Local Flavors at Waroeng Bernadette

Bali was such a unique culinary experience. I found myself googling Bali restaurants as soon as I got back to the states. To experience authentic Balinese cuisine in Seminyak, head to Waroeng Bernadette in Seminyak. This local eatery is famous for its homestyle cooking and hearty rendang, a rich and flavorful Indonesian coconut based stew. The cozy ambiance make this a welcoming place to try local dishes like nasi goreng, chicken satay, and nasi jingo. It’s a great spot to savor the local flavors of Bali.

Day Trip to Lempuyang Temple

A day trip to Lempuyang Temple is worth it but I recommend getting there very early. The drive takes about 2.5 hours and the line begins to get busy by 7 am. Lots of people aim to get there around 5 am. Consider renting an outfit for photos, but if you’re over size 10 or have a bit of hips, you may want to rent an outfit in Seminyak, as the sizes there are limited.

Lempuyang Temple is also known as the “Gates of Heaven,” . Located on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang in East Bali, this ancient temple is one of Bali’s most significant spiritual sites, known for its breathtaking views and iconic split gate that frames Mount Agung in the distance. It’s truly like looking at art. Check the weather before you go as some rainy days causes fog that makes it hard to see the mountain in the distance. There are photographers there to take your photo if you’re solo, but remember to top them. The line moves fast so have your poses down before its your turn.

Seminyak offers a little bit of everything, from peaceful relaxation spots to bustling markets and cultural experiences. Whether you’re practicing yoga, shopping for souvenirs, or catching a sunset at the beach, each moment in Seminyak is a chance to enjoy the diverse charms of Bali.
