By creating a sustainable travel statement, I hope to remind myself to stay committed to ocean conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable travel. I will continually assess my behavior to ensure my actions align with my values.

We are all experiencing the reality of climate change. We can no longer talk about it; we must take action today. From the Bronx River projects to St.Topaz villas and Tuvalu shorelines, rapid climate change is impacting our very existence. Vulnerable populations such as the working poor, People of Color, and those who rely entirely on nature to survive are disproportionally impacted by climate change.

My mission is to help people fall in love with the ocean. The first time you witness the magic of the ocean, you will naturally become an environmentalist. And that’s what the world needs more of.

As someone with a strong passport, I acknowledge my privilege. I strive to be an ambassador of sustainable living and travel, but I also understand the environmental impact of tourism. I don’t have all the answers, but I have committed to being a lifelong student.

Standing on the Shoulders of our Ancestors

“Every day, I complain, protest and object, but it takes such vigilance and activism to keep legislators on their toes and government accountable to the people on environmental issues”
