Looking for a travel guide to Kelinking Beach in Nusa Penida? Kelingking Beach looks a lot like a T-Rex, and I promise that’s not due to eating mushrooms on Gili T. I visited Kelingking Beach during my 4-day trip to Nusa Penida and woke up at 4 am for my tour. Kelingking is nestled in the heart of Nusa Penida island. Tucked away from the bustling crowds of Bali, this secluded paradise offers breathtaking views, pristine waters, and a sense of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. Let’s explore the wonders of Kelingking Beach and uncover what makes it a must-visit destination for travelers who love nature and gorgeous views.

How to Get to Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida

Bali to Nusa Penida Ferry

Getting to Kelingking Beach in Nusa Penida requires a little work. You should take a bus or taxi from Canggu or Ubud to Sanur Beach. The ferries sell out quickly, so you may not be able to get a last-minute ticket. Sanur is about 35 minutes from Ubud and 45 minutes from Canggu. If leaving after 8 am, add an additional 25 minutes to account for traffic.

Once there, head to the ferry terminal. The ferries tend to run late, and the lines tend to be long. The ferry ride was pretty rough. Pack sea sickness medicine and a throwup bag.

When you arrive at Nusa Penida Harbor, you must arrange transportation to Kelingking Beach. Bring enough cash to pay for the island’s entrance fees, meals, and attraction fees.. Most visitors rent a scooter or hire a local driver. The journey from the harbor to Kelingking Beach can take 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic. I found the roads to be a bit scary on the scooter.

Going from Nusa Penida Harbor to Kelingking Beach

Upon reaching Kelingking Beach, park your vehicle at the designated parking area near the entrance. From there, you’ll hike to the viewpoint overlooking the beach. The hike can take around 20 to 30 minutes and involves traversing a steep, rocky trail. It’s essential to wear comfortable shoes, carry plenty of water, and bring a hat to shade you from the direct sun.

Once you reach the viewpoint, take in the scenery of Kelingking Beach and its iconic T-Rex-shaped rock formation. Capture some photos of the stunning coastline and turquoise waters, and appreciate the natural beauty of this hidden gem. For the adventurous souls, there’s an option to continue the hike down to the beach, although this descent is steep and requires caution.

As you set foot on the rugged cliffs overlooking Kelingking Beach, prepare to be awe-struck by the sheer magnificence of the landscape. The iconic T-Rex-shaped rock formation, towering limestone cliffs, and emerald-green waters are a sight.

Snorkeling at Kelingking Beach

To reach Kelingking Beach, you’ll have to take a small hike down the stairs. The stairs are not in the best condition so if you have difficulty on rigid stairs, I recommend visiting beaches with easier access.

One of the highlights of visiting Kelingking Beach is the opportunity to explore its vibrant underwater world. Grab your snorkeling gear and dive into the crystal-clear waters teeming with colorful marine life. From tropical fish darting among the coral reefs to majestic manta rays gliding gracefully through the depths, there’s no shortage of wonders beneath the surface.

Whether you’re an experienced diver or a novice snorkeler, Kelingking Beach offers an unforgettable underwater experience that will leave you in awe of the natural beauty of Indonesia’s marine ecosystems.

Meditation & Mindfullness

Beyond its breathtaking vistas and thrilling adventures, Kelingking Beach also offers a sense of serenity and tranquility that is hard to find in today’s fast-paced world. Spend some time lounging on the sun-drenched shores, listening to the gentle lull of the waves, and feeling the stress of everyday life melt away.

As the sun begins to set and paints the sky in hues of orange and pink, take a moment to reflect on the beauty of your surroundings and the privilege of experiencing such a magical place. Whether you’re traveling solo, with loved ones, or with newfound friends, Kelingking Beach has a way of bringing people together and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Kelingking Beach Tours

If you want to visit Kelingking Beach stress-free, consider taking a tour. Most tours on the Island include multiple attractions and transportation. Tours before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. are usually less busy.
