Just a few miles from Monticello, Carter Mountain Orchard is a delightful destination for fresh fruit picking. Depending on the season, you can pick apples, peaches, and other fruits. Their store sells warm apple cider donuts, freshly pressed peach juice, and other locally made goods. Sometimes, the line can get a bit busy.My favorite part of the trip is the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. They close around 5 or 6, depending on the season.
