Le Bosphorus Al Madinah Review: Is It Worth It?

Le Bosphorus Al Madinah is a popular hotel frequented by those performing Umrah or Hajj. When I performed Umrah, I was scrambling to find a hotel in Madinah and booked a room at Le Bosphorus Al Madinah at the last moment. Here is my honest review.

Location of Le Bosphorus Al Madinah

One of the major selling points of Le Bosphorus Al Madinah is its location. It’s less than a 20-minute walk to Al Masjid an Nabawi, and some rooms have a view of the Haram. The only drawback is that it’s pretty far from restaurants. I ended up walking more than 20 minutes away in search of food. In hindsight, I do not recommend that. Instead, you should order delivery through Talabat or Jahez.

It’s also a great location for buying souvenirs. You’ll find some of the sweetest dates you’ve ever tasted, lots of incense, and gorgeous abayas only a short walk away. I think the prices in Madinah are a bit cheaper than in Makkah.

The Rooms at Le Bosphorus Al Madinah: Review

The best part of my room was the view of Al Masjid an Nabawi. I could easily see when it began to fill up and when I needed to head down to beat the crowds.

The room was a good size, and most importantly, the air conditioner was amazing. The balcony didn’t fully open up but it still provided a great view and air flow. The room came with a plush bathrobe, an iron, and slippers. There was also a coffee maker and refrigerator, which were very useful. The bathroom was clean, and the shower’s water flow was strong.

The bed was perfect. I got some amazing sleep in that bed. It’s also pretty quiet, if you’re a light sleeper you won’t have any issues here.

I have no complaints about my room. Overall, it gets an 8/10 from me.

Breakfast and Food Review

Breakfast was okay. There was a lot of Arab cuisines, like fuul and local pastries. I loved that they offered lots of fruit juice options. They should add more breakfast options, especially for those who don’t eat meat. For a 4-star hotel, there is room for improvement regarding breakfast.

I also wish they offered in-room food service because there aren’t many restaurants within (quick) walking distance but food delivery is only a few taps away.

My Overall Review of Le Bosphorus Al Madinah

Le Bosphorus Al Madinah is a comfortable stay for a short trip to Madinah. I’m not sure I would describe it as an American 4-star stay; it was more of a 3-star hotel. Nevertheless, the staff was very kind and helpful. I was greeted by Arabic coffee during check-in and a helpful busboy who made check-in a breeze.

I love the small touches in the lobby, like the Arabic coffee and the cold water available after enduring that Saudi heat. The rooms are comfortable and provide a good view of the city. I think it’s time to update the hotel’s interior but overall, I feel like I got my money’s worth. The location is great if you plan on spending a lot of time at Haram Mosque.
